After a cautious start to the rally, the Finnish duo confirmed their growing confidence and improved stage by stage, until they finished 6th at Rally Chile, the newest addition to the WRC-calendar.

“We had a difficult start, but we managed to make progress bit by bit. We also managed to improve the set-up of the C3 WRC with the team and our pace started to be pretty decent today. I really hope that we can keep going forward like this in our forthcoming tests. In any case, it ended up being a positive weekend in terms of my confidence.”
Keen to get their bearings back after their misfortune in Argentina, Esapekka Lappi and Janne Ferm did not get off to the kind of start they were hoping for, with a spin on SS1 forcing them to use reverse gear. They then tried to gradually find their marks in the C3 WRC, whilst progressively increasing their pace with each stage, ending day one in tenth place. A controlled and intelligent performance on the Saturday and Sunday saw them climb to sixth in the overall classification.
