Back in a rally-car again, this time in the WRC2 category, the Finnish duo were the fastest crew through the opening stage and kept their lead for the remaining stages. In their Volkswagen Polo GTI won the WRC2 class 47 seconds ahead of Mikkelsen who came second.

- First of all, it was really cool how they managed to make this event happen in such a short time. I really wanted to do a rally here again. I did it nine years ago and really wanted to come again and now it happened. The stages were beautiful, the weather was cool and the sun was very shiny as well so it can’t be better.

This was the first time Esapekka competed in a Volkswagen Polo GTI, and after a problem-free run he was extremely happy with the performance of the car. - I was really surprised how different this Volkswagen actually is from the geometry and the suspension, it really impressed me. I didn’t need to do big changes, to be honest. I’ve not touched a car... it’s many years ago that I haven’t tried to find better settings during the rally. We needed to raise the car for some stages and then we went back down but that’s all we did. I was really satisfied.
