Johan picked up his old manners already on Saturday, scoring a maximum of 30 points from the first event, as top qualifier, a win in the semifinals and a stylish victory in the final. - Great fun to be back! And an incredibly good start to the season.
On Sunday morning Johan went on to win Q1 in the second part of the doubleheader. Mattias Ekström challenged hard and won the second qualifying session, but Johan restored his advantage in Q3 and finished top qualifier for the second time in two days.In the semifinals Kristoffersson had an easy run, thanks to another great launch. - The launches were generally very good, both on dry and wet.
The final became a tougher battle with Robin Larsson challenging Johan through the first corner. - I lost some time there but managed to take the lead, says the 31 year old Swede. Mattias Ekström was early in the joker and picked up the fight. Kristoffersson was well aware of the danger when he entered the joker on the last lap. - I risked everything I could. But it wasn't enough. Ekström took the lead and won the race. Kristoffersson finished second, but was later penalised for hitting two track markers and ended up third. - I gave it all I had, but if you take the fight you have to be prepared to lose sometimes. Mattias Ekström made a guest appearance in Höljes, but might come back for more.- That would be fun, but I don't know about that. If not there are many other good drivers to challenge me.
From Höljes it's straight off to Kouvola in Finland for the next doubleheader coming weekend. - We'll stay in the competition bubble now. On Tuesday we're on the ferry. Six days from now we have to be ready again. The Volkswagen Dealerteam BAUHAUS boss Tommy Kristoffersson had mixed feelings after the first two races. - Yes, we are happy to be top of the championship, but we are never satisfied when someone else is doing a better job than us. We congratulate Mattias for his strong performance but we have to be more accurate and better next time.
